Superdrug becomes BUAV Approved
The BUAV is delighted that the high street giant Superdrug has become BUAV
approved as an animal testing free cosmetics and toiletries retailer under
the BUAV’s internationally recognised Humane Cosmetic Standard (HCS). It
joins a host of other companies including Marks and Spencer, The Co-op, Argos
and The Body Shop.
Superdrug’s entire own brand toiletries product range now carries the
globally recognised leaping bunny logo. With over 900 stores in the UK, ethical
shoppers will be able to purchase typically hard to find cruelty-free
products such as hair dye, sun screen and shaving products. The logo guarantees that no animal testing has occurred in any part of the product’s
manufacturing process.
Michelle Thew, BUAV Chief Executive said: “We are delighted that Superdrug
has taken this important step to become BUAV Approved and congratulate it
for doing so. I am now calling on other high street retailers to follow
suit and clear all animal tested products from the shelves once and for all."
