Two new books

In April of this year, Slingshot Publications will bring out two new books.
The first, SKEWED by Martin Walker is an investigation into the psychiatric lobby which maintains that Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are psychiatric illnesses. The book also examines the arguments of psychiatrists and other 'experts' on Gulf War Syndrome and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. The book argues that it is the chemical and pharmaceutical companies as well as psychiatric professionals who have most to gain in determining that these illnesses are not organically based. SKEWED is Martin
Walker's longest work after Dirty Medicine.
The second book is Slaughter of the Innocent by Hans Ruesch. This book, which was last published in England over twenty years ago can safely be described as the seminal book of the modern abolitionist anti-vivisection movement. It reviews and critiques both the historical and contemporary circumstances of vivisection. It is a completely uncompromising treatise against those who exploit, torture and kill animals. This edition will have a new introduction common to other Hans Ruesch books that Slingshot intends to re-publish over the coming year.
In order to raise money for the printing of SKEWED, we are offering copies of both these titles at £5, to anyone who, prior to, or during printing, (before the end of the first week in May) buys ten copies or more of either book in any combination. This offer will be particularly useful to organisations and groups which need to raise money for campaigning. The offer is also open to bookshops.
Those who don't think that they can pass on ten books or more could register as the first associate members of Slingshot. For £50 they will receive copies of at least three books published this year by Slingshot plus one copy of A Cat In Hell's Chance. Next year, it will be possible to renew this associate membership, for next years books, at around £20. Any cheques should be made out to Slingshot Publications and sent to the address above. If you are able to distribute order forms and flyers for these books please tell us and send your land address, any address lists for relevant individuals and organisations will be useful.
We look forward to hearing from you and hope that with your help we will be able to raise the printing cost of these two books.
Martin J Walker.
