Pet friendly hotels may be advertising a lot of services but it is recommended to research before setting out on that trip. A thorough research of these pet friendly hotels is needed or be prepared to spend more while taking the pet. In some cases it is cheaper to leave the pet at home than to take them along on trips.
Do not assume the prices of these pet friendly hotels because the prices may vary even if they are familiar brands. The Hyatt's Andaz brand advertises itself as pet friendly but the charges differ across cities. While the Los Angeles and San Diego hotels charge a non refundable $150 to keep a pet in a room, in New York the same non refundable fee is for $100. The Hilton's Doubletree brand which offers several pet friendly hotels has prices ranging from $50 to $75.
The Kimpton Hotels are one of the pet friendly hotels which do not charge anything for keeping a pet in the room but all the advertised accessories like dog walking and sitting will be charged extra.

There is a new craze for pet friendly travel and how are airlines to be left behind? Petfinder.com has made a list of pet friendly airlines based on how the major carriers had made efforts to make travelling by air easier for pets.
At the top of the list for pet friendly airlines is Pet Airways which is a new airline that is dedicated only to the travel of pets. They can even transport big dogs like mastiffs and Great Danes since they have a maximum height allowance of 34 inches. The airline currently flies to ten cities and offers main cabin travel for the pets instead of the cargo hold. Other pet friendly traditional carriers include JetBlue which offers the JetPaws program which provides a travel "petiquette" guide and also an e-booklet guide to inform about the pet services in the destination city.
Frontier Airlines also got a pet friendly rating since it allows several pets in the cabin including rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and birds. Members of a family can carry one pet carrier each with them if the total is less than 10 pets.

Imagine Jon Arbuckle with Odie and Garfield in the car, at pet travel, the countless images of an open window and a canine's head peering out with its tongue hanging out. Ah, the thought of pet travel itself has nice ring to it.
All pet lovers fancy taking their pets out on a trip. But safe pet travel is one aspect of pet care that cannot be neglected. The steps taken to ensure safe pet travel are simple and not at all demanding.
Keeping in view the distance during the pet travel, pack in a sturdy tote bag that will hold the essentials: food and water dishes, a couple of favorite toys, grooming gear and treats. Have plastic bags for picking poop, a stack of paper towels and a bottle of enzymatic stain and odor remover in case your four-legged companion throws up during pet travel.
